There are not many dogs that Louise and I ever agree on 100%, Kermit is one of those rare exceptions. About 4 years ago I was doing an on-line search for various pedigrees and came across one that I thought was just about perfect, half Kodiak through Kodiak's Merlin and half Northome's through Northomes Shelly. When Louise saw pictures of the dog she instantly fell in love with him. Not long after that we got in touch with Paul and Shelly Whitney at Kraken's Kennels and told them how highly we thought of Kermit. Then in January 2007 we were lucky enough to visit their kennels, see Kermit in the flesh and best of all double sled behind him as he led out their sprint team. The visit just served to enhance our appreciation of this guy.

We were so taken with him that we wished to use him at stud on Medea. Unfortunately when Medea came into season earlier in 2008 we were unable to get our timings right and so missed the opportunity. Then in November 2008 we received an email from Paul saying that they were letting a few dogs go and would we be interested in taking Kermit. Although I initially declined, Louise's persistence finally made me see sense and Kermit is now living with us. We are so pleased that we changed our minds and now share our lives with this super boy.
